Australian OSCE Preparation for Internationally Qualified Nurses
Structured, mentor-led training for the NMBA OSCE — stage 2 of the Ahpra outcomes-based assessment. Drill every station in a real simulation ward, sit full mock OSCE circuits, and walk into Adelaide knowing exactly what assessors expect.
- NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice
- Ahpra outcomes-based assessment (OBA)
- ANZCOR resuscitation guidelines
- Simulation-based training
The exam
What is the NMBA OSCE — and why do good nurses lose marks?
The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is the practical stage of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) outcomes-based assessment for internationally qualified nurses. After passing the NCLEX-RN (stage 1), you sit the OSCE in person at Adelaide Health Simulation, where assessors watch you demonstrate — not describe — safe, person-centred practice across timed clinical stations.
Most candidates are clinically strong and still lose marks on communication sequencing, Australian documentation language, medication safety checks and open disclosure — practices that differ from home-country hospitals. That gap is exactly what this program closes.

Pathway
How to become a Registered Nurse in Australia from India
The typical route for internationally qualified nurses through the NMBA outcomes-based assessment:
Ahpra self-check
Confirm your qualification and which assessment stream applies to you.
English language
Meet the NMBA English language registration standard (e.g. IELTS, OET, PTE).
NCLEX-RN
Stage 1 — computer-based exam of clinical knowledge, at Pearson VUE centres.
OSCE in Adelaide
Stage 2 — practical station-based exam. This is where we train you.
Ahpra registration
Apply for registration and start practising as an RN in Australia.
Note: an ANMAC skills assessment is used for migration visa purposes only — it is separate from Ahpra registration and does not replace the NCLEX-RN or OSCE.

Questions
Australian OSCE — frequently asked questions
What is the OSCE for nurses moving to Australia?
The OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) is stage 2 of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) outcomes-based assessment for internationally qualified nurses. It is a practical, station-based exam held in person at Adelaide Health Simulation, taken after passing the NCLEX-RN. Passing it is required before Ahpra can register you as a Registered Nurse.
How do I become a registered nurse in Australia from India?
Complete the Ahpra self-check to confirm your assessment pathway, meet the NMBA English language registration standard, pass the NCLEX-RN (stage 1) and then the OSCE in Adelaide (stage 2), and finally apply to Ahpra for registration. A separate ANMAC skills assessment is only needed for migration visa purposes — it does not replace the OSCE.
What is the difference between the NCLEX-RN and the OSCE?
The NCLEX-RN is a computer-based multiple-choice exam that tests clinical knowledge; in Australia it is stage 1 of the NMBA assessment. The OSCE is stage 2: a hands-on exam where assessors watch you perform clinical tasks across timed stations.
Who is this OSCE program for?
Internationally qualified nurses — mainly trained and registered in India — preparing for the NMBA OSCE on the pathway to Ahpra registration in Australia.
How long does OSCE preparation take?
Most candidates complete the Comprehensive track in 8–10 weeks, attending simulation-lab sessions two to three times a week alongside self-study.
Can I prepare for the OSCE online?
Yes. Enrolled students get the NCA online portal with OSCE video lectures, station cheatsheets and script submission with teacher correction. Simulation-lab sessions run at our Mohali (Chandigarh) campus.
How much does OSCE preparation cost?
Fees depend on the track and batch. Contact our admissions team for a quote. Program fees do not include the Ahpra application, NCLEX-RN or OSCE exam fees, which are paid directly to the exam bodies.
Where can I do OSCE coaching near Chandigarh?
Our simulation lab and mentor-led batches run at 2nd Floor, SCO 71, Sector 91, Mohali, in the Chandigarh Tricity.
What if I don’t pass the OSCE on my first attempt?
Elite Mentorship candidates get unlimited mock circuits and mentor sessions until their next attempt, at no extra cost.
Your Australian registration comes down to one practical exam. Prepare like it.
New simulation-lab batches open regularly in Mohali (Chandigarh). Seats are limited to keep station time high.
